Makita/Dolmar
The DOLMAR chainsaw model A weighed 127.6 lbs. and was operated by two people. It had a HP of 8.0 (5.9 kW) and a displacement of 245 cc. Invented in 1927, it was the first gasoline powered chainsaw.
In 1991 Dolmar was acquired by Japanese tool manufacturer Makita. Makita Engineering Germany GmbH is one of the oldest manufacturers of portable gasoline chainsaws and is headquartered in Hamburg, Germany.
